AcquiredStuttering Mostpeoplewhostutterbeginstutteringinchildhood,duringthedevelopmentalperiodinwhichtheyarelearningtocommunicate.Inmorerarecases,stutteringistheresultofbraininjuryorseverepsychologicaltrauma.Thisformofstuttering,knownas“acquired”stuttering,differsfromdevelopmentalstutteringinbothitscausesandmanifestations.
