Butjustafter10a.m.Monday,SteveGuild,vacationingfromEdenPrairie,Minnesota,walkedinsidewithhisfriendErinGrimmandherneighbor,LisaRemus.TheyweregreetedbycheeringTopgolfserversandassociates,aboutadozenofthe400employeesexpectedtoworkthere. “Ididn’tknowthatwasgoingtobethecase,”Guildsaidofbeingthefirstcustomer.“Butitwasalotoffunwhenwewalkedin.Theywerereallyexcitedtoseeus.” Aftercheckingin,theywereescortedupstairstooneofthe72golfbaysatthefacility,whichhasadrivingrangeofupto215yardsandprotectivenettingthatrises170to175feet.Thereare36baysupstairsand36downstairs.Therearealsomultiplebarsandaneventsroomthatcanbereservedforparties. “Thisisatremendousday,”saidTopgolfdirectorofoperationsEddieParisi,whohasbeenwiththecompanyforfouryearsandpreviouslymanagedaTopgolffacilityinMyrtleBeach,SouthCarolina.“Notonlyforourentireteamhere.We’regoingtobringsomethingnewtoFortMyers.Theculturethatwebringhere.Theenergyandthepassionthateverybodybringstothetable.We’reveryexcited.We’relookingforwardtogreatthingshere.” TopgolfhasaresidentproinBryanSnyder,aPGA-certifiedteachingprofessional.
