有些人睡個6小時，隔天醒來就精神奕奕；但某部份人則是不睡好睡滿8個小時，是無法甘願從被窩裡爬出來的。
這種對於「時間」需求的不同不單單反應在睡眠時間上，在戀愛中的每一對情侶，雙方對愛情中陪伴相處的時間也有著不同的需要。
是否常聽到朋友抱怨男友總是抱著電動，一玩就是一下午，都沒好好花時間陪他；又或者是你自己想要和好姐妹一起出去旅行或逛街，男友卻叨唸著你都把時間拿去花在朋友的身上。
當感情中出現了「抱怨」，若不好好正視，很可能就會由小事變成了讓兩人無法再相互扶持走下去的大事了。
那當彼此對於相處時間的需求不同時，要如何才能夠解決這項問題呢？
兩性關係專家，情感諮商公司MazeofLove的創辦人ChrisArmstrong提到了一項關鍵，那就是所謂的「需求」是「需要」還是「想要」？
「需要」是必須被滿足的，而「想要」卻是可以協調出一個衷中結果的。
在一段關係中，若是其中一人「需要」長時間看到或是陪著他的伴侶，而另一個人而是更需要個人空間。
在這種情況下，永遠都會有摩擦存在。
所以當兩人之間存在相處時間的問題時，第一件事就是搞清楚彼此的需求是「需要」還是「想要」。
若是「想要」，可以透過找出「想要」的原因來解決。
若是其中一方目前工作上的壓力較大，精神狀態比較不好，這時很可能就是因為外在環境的影響使得「想要」另一半花多點時間在自己身上，取得較多的關心和關注。
這會是短時間性的，所以建議另一半能夠調整一下兩人本來的相處時間，來滿足對方這「期間性想要」。
若是兩人已經清楚認知到了對方的「需要」是自己無法提供，反之亦然；那可能就該好好思考這段感情是否有值得堅持下去的意義，因為就如ChrisArmstrong所提到的在彼此無法滿足對方的「需要」這種情況下，永遠都會有摩擦存在的。
