翻譯是：但是一個由三位加拿大科學家的研究，已經證實，世界上最雄偉、最持久的動物之一，也是最近才知道棲息在加拿大大西洋岸，已經受到現代消費文化最低價的人工製品—塑膠袋，的嚴重威脅。

Tragically,thebiggestmemberoftheturtlefamilyispronetomistakingthediscardedbagsthatlittertheworld'soceanswithjellyfish,itsonlysourceoffood.可悲的是，烏龜家族裡最大的(棱皮龜)，會把世界海洋到處被棄置的塑膠袋，誤認為它唯一的食物來源—水母。

Theresearchers'analysisofnearly400turtleautopsiesconductedsince1968showedthat37.2percentofthedeadleatherbacksexaminedhadingestedsomeformofplastic—mostlybags,butalsofishinglines,balloons,picniccutleryandcandywrappers.學者自1968年分析了，近400隻海龜的驗屍報告，顯示了37.2%的死去棱皮龜，吞下了各種樣式的塑膠—多數是塑膠袋，但也有魚線、汽球、野餐餐具和糖果包裝袋。

被船撞到、被漁網纏住、棲息地的毀壞，和某些南方國家人們的收集海龜蛋，是世界上棱皮龜所遭受的其他威脅。

James,whoseresearchoverthepastdecadehasdemonstratedthesignificanceofNovaScotia'sandNewfoundlandandLabrador'soffshorefeedingzonestothesurvivalofthespecies'AtlanticOceanpopulation,describedtheMPBstudyasa"monumentaleffortthatlookedbackatnecropsiesoverthelastcenturyfromallovertheworld."兩個逗點之間先不看，就看懂了不是嗎？近十年的研究，已經證實了NovaScotia、Newfoundland和Labrador海岸進食區，對這物種的大西洋生存數量的重要性的James，描述這個報告為：『這世紀裡，重新檢驗世界各地驗屍報告的偉大成就。

』 Leatherbacks,whichcanliveatleast80yearsandgrowbeyond650kilograms,arebornonbeachesintropicalwatersbutmigratevastdistancestosuchplacesasCanada'sEastCoast,wherejellyfishareplentiful.又來了兩個逗點之間先不看，其實這兩個逗點之間，只是進一步說明棱皮龜，而裡面的which正是關係代名詞，就是棱皮龜。

壽命至少是80年，並可以成長到超過650公斤的棱皮龜，出生在熱帶海域的沙灘上，但會遷移長遠距離，到達諸如加拿大東岸，那些很多水母的地方。

"Sincejellyfishandmarinedebrisconcentratewhereoceanwatermassesmeet,leatherbacksfeedingintheseareasarevulnerabletoingestingplastic,"theuniversitystatementsaid."Onceleatherbacksingestplastic,thousandsofspinesliningthethroatandesophagusmakeitnearlyimpossibletoregurgitate."這句裡的esophagus，我也不知道，不過既然跟throatand在一起，暫時就當throat之類的東西吧！還有regurgitate，我也不知道，不過既然說道吃塑膠，就猜消化吧！『由於水母和海洋廢棄物聚集在洋流匯及處，棱皮龜在這些地方取食，就很容易因吃進塑膠而受到傷害。

』大學的聲明裡說『在棱皮龜吃進塑膠後，幾千條沿著喉嚨和食道的脊柱，讓它幾乎無法反芻。

科學家也推測，棱皮龜的減少，或是最終絕種，和隨之而來的水母數量的增加，會在世界上某些地方，造成商業漁業活動的大問題。
