Drugcrimes[edit] AlongwiththeComprehensiveCrimeControlActof1984,theactsubstantiallyincreasedthenumberofdrugoffenseswithmandatoryminimumsentences.[10] Thisactmandatedaminimumsentenceof5yearswithoutparoleforpossessionof5gramsofcrackcocainewhileitmandatedthesameforpossessionof500gramsofpowdercocaine.This100:1disparitywasreducedto18:1,whencrackwasincreasedto28grams(1ounce)bytheFairSentencingActof2010.[citationneeded]
