Story[] KingdomRush:OriginsistheprequeltotheoriginalKingdomRush,setthirtyyearsbeforeVez'nanwagedwarwithLinirea.Thestoryissetonasoutherncontinent,homelandoftheelves.NarratedbyKingDenas,thestoryunfoldsgraduallythroughinformationgivenatthestartofeachnewlevelastheplayer,thenamelessGeneralintheelvenforcesleadsyourtroopsfirstagainstagnollandTwilightelfincursionthroughtheelvenwoodstorescuePrincessAlleriaSwiftwindandlethersafelyfleetoLinirea;thencontinuesthroughenchantedforestsanduptotheruinsoftheelvenFirstCityitselftofaceagainsttwovillains:Malicia,QueenoftheTwilightElves;andMactans,theancientSpiderQueenastheyplottoseizetheTearofElynie,theancientpowerthatgavebirthtotheelvenraceitself. Thegameendswiththedefeatofthevillains,buttheyhavealreadymanagedtocorrupttheTearofElynie,whichfallsintothehandsofthedarkwizardVez'nan-thefirststepinhisfallfromgracefromaherotoaneviloverlordandthemainvillainofKingdomRush. Gameplay[] GameplayinOriginsisnodifferenttothepreviousgames,allowingplayersofthepreviousgametoflystraightintoplayingwithoutneedingtofamiliarizethemselveswiththesetup.Thegamestillincludesthesametutorialsandexplainshowthingsworkclearly,sonewplayerscanlearnquickly. Startinganewgamefirstofferstheplayerachoiceofdifficulty:Casual,NormalandVeteran.ThedifficultychangestheHitPoints(orHP)oftheenemies.Thedifficultylevelcanalsobechangedindividuallyoneachlevel.EachlevelisrepresentedonamapoftheFrontiers,whicharebriefedwithabasicideaofwhattoexpectbeforetheplayerbeginsplayingthelevel.Therearethreetypesofgamemodes.ThedefaultandmainmodeisCampaign,thestorymodeofthegame.Afterastageisbeatenwitha3-starratingonCampaignmode,twomoremodesareunlocked:HeroicChallengeandIronChallenge.Thesenewmodesofferdifferenttypesofchallenges,bychangingthewaves,enemiesortowersavailable. Acompletedlevelisawardedstarsbasedonhowsuccessfullyithasbeenplayed.Thenumberoflivesremainingdetermineshowmanystarsareawarded,withthreeforalmostnonelost(18-20livesremaining),twoforanaverageplay(17-6remaining)andoneforpoorplay(5-1remaining).Failingtokeepanyliveswillresultindefeat.BothHeroicandIronChallengeshaveonly1life,andbeatingthemodesaward1stareach.
