GMannouncedacommitmenttoinvest$2billioninSpringHillAssemblyinOctober2020,andtheentireSpringHillteamhasworkedtoprepareforproductionoftheCadillacLYRIQ.Thelaunchacceleratedaheadofschedule,whiletheteamcontinuedtoassembletheCadillacXT5,CadillacXT6andGMCAcadiawithworld-classquality.    “TheCadillacLYRIQsetsthestandardforthefutureofCadillacandmarksanothermajormilestoneinGM’scommitmenttoanall-electricfuture,”saidReuss.“ThisisamonumentaldayfortheentireGMteam.WeretooledSpringHillAssemblywiththebest,mostadvancedtechnologyintheworldandtheteamworkedtirelesslytocompletethepreparationsninemonthsaheadoftheoriginalschedule.” Reservationsforthe2023CadillacLYRIQDebutEditionsoldoutinjustover10minuteslatelastsummer,anddemandcontinuestogrow.Cadillacwillbegintakingadditionalordersforthe2023LYRIQonMay19. ThedebutoftheUltiumPlatforminaCadillacEV TheCadillacLYRIQ,thebrand’sfirstall-electricvehicle,isbuiltonGM’sUltiumPlatform,theheartofthecompany’sEVstrategy.TheUltiumPlatformencompassesacommonelectricvehiclearchitectureandpropulsioncomponentslikebatterycells,modules,packs,UltiumDriveunits,EVmotorsandintegratedpowerelectronics.
