Theimplementationorexecutionofstrategy,however,isoftenneglectedanditsresultsarefrequentlyunpredictable.Problemsencounteredwiththeimplementationofstrategyoftenlienotwithanyflawsinthestrategyitself,butratherinafailuretoimplementiteffectively.Suchfailurescanmeanthatstrategicinitiativesareonlypartiallysuccessfulandleadtofrustrationasthehopedforstrategicbenefitsarenotrealised.Ultimately,theycanresultinthedeclineoreven,failureofthebusinessasawhole. Translatingstrategyaimsintoactionableprocessesinanorderedfashionis,however,noteasy.Thesettingofprioritiesandthedevelopmentofplansmaypresentorganisationswithformidablemanagementchallenges.Theeffectiveexecutionofstrategycanbeimpededbymanyandvarieddifficultiesincluding;weakorinconsistentsenior-levelcommitment,alackofsupportfrommanagersandemployees,cross-departmentalconflicts,ambiguityinrolesandresponsibilitiesoralackofaccountability.
