FBIFileonthePosseComitatus ThisFBIfileisanexcellentcasestudyofthetrackingofahategroup.Agroupofright-wingextremists,thePosseComitatuswasformedinOregonintheearly1970s.Establishedasagroupofcitizens"voluntarilyactinginthenameofthelocalsherifftoenforcethelaw,"thePosseComitatushatedJews,AfricanAmericans,andgovernmentofficialsabovetherankofsheriff.Holdingthefederalgovernmentincontemptasillegitimate,andrecognizinglawfulauthorityonlyonthecountylevel,thePossealsoadvocatedtaxrebellion.Coveringtheperiod1973-1977and1980-1996,thiscollectioncontainscopiesofhateliterature,detailsofabombing,andnotesfromseveralincometaxevasiontrials.Thisfilewillbeofinteresttothosestudyinghategroupsandthegovernment'seffortstomonitorthem.
